Arnaud

Arnaud

Managing Partner + Master Distiller

Start with a pinch of studies in England, add a dash of consulting in industrial sectors, 6 grams of defending and promoting the wines of Chablis and from the Grand Auxerrois, 10 cl of marketing, communications and business development consulting, shake all those ingredients into a wine bar-wine shop-oenobistro concept in the heart of Chablis and you get a good understanding of Arnaud’s profile. Now the evolution towards creating and distilling spirits isn’t really a stretch! The appetite to start a new distillery project and the study for such a project have been around for 5 years but everything clicked right into place just a few weeks before the distillation training program he was supposed to take alone. During this training that finally was done with Benjamin in one of the homelands of Gin and distilling a partnership just seemed obvious. It was obvious that it also showed in the bespoke approach to distilling and the use of technology to better serve customers and products which has been part of Arnaud’s DNA through his career and will remain a focus point.

Benjamin

Benjamin

Managing Partner + Master Distiller

How do you go from the Opéra de Paris to starting a distillery in Burgundy. Those to worlds really seem to be appart while they indeed have the notion of Passion in common. A passion for harmonic, beautifully composed and flawless things. This passion for music perfectly matches another passion for wines and spirits. After starting at the Opéra de Paris Benjamin got full trained as winegrower to maybe one day start his own domaine. Rather than a domaine he opened a wine tourism/travel agency between groups of fine wine tasters and renowned companies looking for new approaches to build and train their teams. Still actually producing something is missing! A quick talk (probably alongside a tasting) as part of an event he was hosting and where he asked Arnaud to co-host really is the starting point of what now is known as the Valour+Lemaire Distillery.

Victorien

Victorien

Junior Associate + Distiller

Born and raised in the Yonne district of Burgundy but first trained to talk about Champagne, then about the wines of Chablis and Burgundy to finally turn towards Spirits … what’s the logic in that? Well if you look closely there is some kind of logic in that. Indeed Victorien started his career while still in school in a Champagne Winery which also is a distillery, through this he got to meet Arnaud and Benjamin (guess how?). He then flew away to Mexico which is immensely well known for it’s sparkling wine production (scratch that) or rather because it’s the homeland of Mezcal and Tequila. When he got back to France he headed straight for the Chablis Vineyard to work with Arnaud. This is Victorien’s passport and this is how he got his shot at working with Valour+Lemaire. He also happens to have been trained in leading negotiations by Arnaud and in being a passionate brand ambassador by Benjamin (which means he was also exposed if not trained to their sense of humour …). You will soon find out that he truly made his the Valour+Lemaire Spirit.
